The town of Vysokoye lies on a narrow strip in a loop of the Pulva River. The highest point of this area is out of this photo, to the left. The site of the original town extends about 50% further to the right of this photo. At that point there is a bridge that leads to the area of the traditional town known as the Polish suburb, as it contained the estate of the Patocki family, Polish nobles. Beyond the river looping from right to left, to the south of this view is a raised wooded area containing the ruins of an actual castle erected and occupied by the Sapiega family.
