Written words are too weak to convey to you my thanks for the great honor you bestowed on me, electing me as you chairman of the Relief and I am proud of all who helped me. I know that more could have been done if all our landslei would have joined our sacred work. Now that we have the opportunity of meeting all of you, I urge you to join our work. With your small contribution you will support your friends in your old home from doom. This good deed with guard you from distress and sickness.

On this occasion we send - I, my wife and our beloved children - a hearty greeting to our mother and grandmother Toybe Kartzevvitz and to all our landsleit in W-L. We all here join with you and pray to God that the dark clouds will be lifted and he sun with its bright rays will again shine on you and you will not need to appeal to us for support.
